World Vision

Lead your church in a hope-filled response to the global news headlines

As a Child Ambassador, you signed up to share the transformational power of sponsorship in your community. In your role, you have the opportunity to help your church better reflect what it means to follow Christ by inviting your pastoral staff to consider hosting a Hope Sunday.

Hosting a Hope Sunday will help your church...

  • Strengthen their walk with Christ
  • Bring hope to children and families
  • Understand God's heart for the poor

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.

Matthew 25:35-36 (NIV)

Why Hope Sunday?

Hope Sunday is a time for your church to reflect on the calling to follow Christ into the margins and choose to serve in the hardest places in the world – World Vision is in those places, and your church can make a lasting impact by choosing to sponsor children.

A great Hope Sunday:

• Has pastoral and staff support, leading the congregation into action

• Includes a sermon reflection on poverty and our role as believers to care for the least of these

• Includes a video about the transformative power of sponsorship

• Has a passionate Child Ambassador to help manage the logistics and execute the plan

• Includes awesome volunteers to pull off the details

When you host, we support you with all the resources you need:

• Pastor Talking Points

• Sermon Support

• Videos and photos to share leading up to your event

• Event planning guides

• Children's ministry curriculum

• Small Group Study

Child Ambassadors reach goals through Hope Sunday

When you sign up to host a Child Ambassador Hope Sunday, we will create a unique source code for your church so that we can be sure to accurately follow up from your event. Your CA number will be directly tied to this event and each sponsorship that occurs will apply toward your CA goals.

Why pastors are joining in this great calling...

"As we seek to express Jesus love and truth around the world, we've found World Vision to be a terrific partner. They have the heart, experience, expertise, and scope to help break the destructive force of poverty that enslaves so many. Most importantly, they are committed to doing it in the name of Jesus and in partnership with the local church."

Pastor Brad Powell, Northridge Church

"Following Jesus out to the masses in the margins is messy business. It’s much easier to ignore the least, lowest, and last. That’s why Crossroads loves to partner with our friends at World Vision as they blaze a trail to those in greatest need."

Pastor Phil Print, Crossroads Church

"World Vision and our Newsong family have formed a strong alliance to go to the darkest and hardest places to love. We know we’re better together than by ourselves."

Dave Gibbons, Founder of Newsong Church

World Vision is urgently calling the church to a hope-filled response.

Working together, and with World Vision’s network of more than 13,000 churches and 25,000 faith leaders in the field, we can help make fullness of life possible for children and families living in the margins.
